I don' t go to public school, so I don't have after-school activities. Instead, I go to the Internet. I belong to a large number of e-mail loops through eGroups and I moderate several of my own. I'm also a member, prayer partner, mentor, and chat room evangelist of PACT (Power Alliance of Christian Teens), which has an e-mail loop through eGroups.
This page is very long, so here's a list of what you can find on the page, and if you click on the links you can go right to that part of the page.

How to join
an eGroup
PACT
For those of you who don't know, eGroups works about the same way Onelist does. (In fact, they recently merged and created a whole new organization, eGroups, Inc.) A person or people create a "community" about something that's important or interesting to them. They can invite other people to join the community, and people can find it in a list of other communities or search for communities on a particular topic. Each community has at least one moderator, who is sort of the "boss" of the community. There is no limit on the number of members in each community. When you join, you're automatically sent a "Welcome" message written by the moderator, but all other letters go to the community. When someone writes a letter to the community, it goes to every member of that community. (They're also called mailing lists, or just lists, but if you say "mailing list" people automatically think "junk mail that I don't want to have any part of," and this isn't like that at all. It's more of a discussion group, kind of like a chat room that's done through e-mail.)
I own
too many lists to name here (about 10). Here are some of the eGroups that
I moderate myself, with a short description:
Here's a list of some of the eGroups that I've joined but do not own (some I do help moderate):
If you want to join a list (any eGroup), there are several ways to do it. You can go to the web page for the community (the address is http://www.egroups.com/community/FishersofWomen, or replace "FishersofWomen" with the name of the community you want to join). You can send an e-mail to the web page owner saying that you want to join the list and he or she will add you or tell you what to do. The e-mail address for any list owner is FishersofWomen-owner@egroups.com, or replace "FishersofWomen" with the name of the list. If you're already a member of ONElist or E-Groups, meaning you've gone to the web site (http://www.onelist.com or http://www.egroups.com) and filled out a profile form, you can just send an e-mail to FishersofWomen-subscribe@egroups.com, or, of course, replace "FishersofWomen" with the name of the list you want to join. Or you can write to someone you know is on the list and ask them to send you an invitation or have the list owner send you one.
PACT (Power Alliance of Christian Teens) has a web page at http://campus.fortunecity.com/purdue/933/ for more information. It is a group of several hundred people, all high school and college students. It's a large group and very active. There are daily devotions written by members, a weekly newsletter, a mentoring program, prayer partners, a prayer warriors team, a chat room evangelism program, interest groups so you can get to know other PACT members who have similar interests, and many other things to interest almost any Christian teen. Check out their web page and see for yourself!
